SHINE: Events have to be extraordinary
Regardless of whether we are talking about an anniversary, a roadshow, a product launch or an executive conference. By applying our formula "Events have to SHINE", we face the crucial challenges of our industry and lay the foundation for lasting long-term success.
Today, we will focus on one element of the SHINE formula that is at the core of every event: Extraordinary.
Nowadays, there are plenty of events luring us with similar offers and it is not always easy to stick out from the crowd. But how do you get people to voluntarily move out of their comfort zone and get excited about an event?
This is where the last component of SHINE comes into play: Extraordinary. If we want to get people to leave their familiar paths and get involved in something new and exciting, we also have to offer something extraordinary. With this in mind, today is all about how to create unforgettable events that participants will remember for a long time.
AMAZE & SURPRISE
In order to be successful, an event must inspire, positively surprise the participants and thus also break through expectations every now and then, because a run-of-the-mill event no longer sweeps anyone off their feet. An example of such an unusual event is a marketing stunt in which we pitted an aeroplane against a luxurious sports car. This bold and unconventional concept caused a lot of furore and buzz at the time because it was very unusual and surprising. It shows that it is possible to generate a lot of attention through creative and innovative ideas. Through the combination of live and digital, a high degree of reach can be generated.
The future will probably be characterised by a digital background noise in which live events function as highlights. Likewise, events will become the pacemaker of marketing and the live campaign idea will come back into play: an event as a content provider can be an absolute highlight and inspire the participants.
In addition to creating an inspiring experience, it is also crucial to be flexible with an event's agenda and move away from traditional frontal sound bites with long power point presentations on stage. Instead, there should be more focus on the needs and expectations of the participants, as they are ultimately the ones who can make the event a success. By focusing more on the interests and wishes of the participants, event planners can create an authentic and dynamic experience that leaves participants enthusiastic.
SNACKABLE CONTENT CANAPES
In a time when we are flooded with information and our focus is quickly lost, it is more important than ever to deliver high-quality and engaging content. However, we should not forget that less is often more and quality trumps quantity. Taking into account the "lost focus" phenomenon and the existing self-growth aspiration, it is crucial to offer content that does not overwhelm but can be presented in "snackable" bites. It is about not overwhelming the participants and instead producing brain-friendly morsels that are nevertheless presented in an appealing way. The feeling must be conveyed that what is being learned is actually helpful and furthering the need for self-development. But how can we make this "snackable content" appealing?
Besides big images and emotions, we should focus on high quality and relevant content that meets the needs of the participants. By combining engaging design and quality content, we can offer a unique experience that not only entertains but also inspires our participants. The motto is: Snackable Content Canapes!
In summary, we have to create WOW moments! Moments that stay in the mind and create positive associations with the brand and the event. We want to create lasting memories, anchor messages emotionally and make community tangible. And what better way to do this than with an event?
