Instead, the combination of analogue and digital elements offers entirely new possibilities for events.

Digitalisation has opened up a multitude of new possibilities for us to create events in an entirely unprecedented way. Hybrid events, which have both a physical and a digital component, have gained in importance in recent years and have become even more relevant as a result of the pandemic. And this is highly unlikely to change even after the pandemic.

With increasing digitalisation, it is important that the digital world is always considered in order to reach a wider audience and meet the needs of the participants. This is due to the fact that more and more people are using online access and expect an engaging digital experience. In an era where comfort and convenience are highly valued, the ability to attend an event from home offers an attractive advantage. It is therefore essential for organisers to plan hybrid events that accommodate both groups and offer a seamless integration of digital and physical elements.

Simple livestreams and filmed events may be fine as a stopgap, but they are not enough to meet the expectations of online participants. Nowadays, it is no longer enough to simply offer a live stream. Audiences expect an eye-to-eye experience, whether they are physically present or digitally participating. One way to create this experience is to focus on interaction. We are convinced that the Metaverse will become the ultimate operating system for hybrid events. Because there are no limits to imagination here and social interaction comes as close to reality as anything else. Virtual trade fairs, conferences, product presentations or even parties can be realistically realised here. A big advantage of the Metaverse is that it is accessible to people from all over the world and thus enables a global reach. The concept of hybrid events can also be implemented perfectly, as participants can be in both the virtual space and the physical space.

The picture below shows our virtual office, where we regularly meet and exchange ideas - no matter from where. Here we can work together regardless of time and space and still feel like we are in a real office. This is just one example of how the Metaverse can be used in the working world. It also offers numerous possibilities for events, which will become more and more important in the future.
