This year, thanks to your active participation in our Christmas Charity campaign, we’ve achieved remarkable success – VOK DAMS is removing more than two tons of plastic from the rivers of Indonesia and India. FROM VIRTUAL ACTION TO REAL CHANGE: OUR CHARITY CAMPAIGN WITH SUSTAINABLE IMPACT

In a constantly changing world, one thing remains unchanged: the need to protect and sustainably manage our natural resources. Access to clean water and the preservation of our waterways are fundamental needs, highlighted by the UN's global sustainability goals (SDGs). In light of these challenges, VOK DAMS launched a Christmas Charity campaign that not only raises awareness but also supports concrete measures for cleaner oceans.

At VOK DAMS, we pursue a holistic approach to sustainability – ecologically, economically, and socially. Just like with this campaign, we focus on solutions at our events that provide sustainable impulses and deliver measurable results. These goals are embedded in our sustainability strategy and reflect our belief that sustainable actions must encompass all dimensions of sustainability.

Each year, we are excited to launch a special Christmas Charity campaign. This year’s partner, Plastic Fischer, aligns perfectly with our values. With their holistic approach, Plastic Fischer combines ecological and social goals, making a significant contribution to reducing plastic pollution – mission that closely matches our own objectives.

Last year, our focus was on the social dimension of sustainability. By participating in the Christmas Charity Quiz 2023, we were able to provide 600 children in Eastern Africa with access to primary education by fulfilling our promise of financial support for each quiz entry.

This year, participants had 30 seconds to fish out as many virtual bottles as possible from the water. For every virtual bottle saved, we are covering the costs of removing real plastic waste from rivers in Indonesia and India with our partner organization, Plastic Fischer. We are thrilled that sustainability is such a high priority for our clients, partners, and employees. Without their active support, we wouldn’t have achieved the many entries that enable us to remove more than two tons of plastic from the rivers.

ABOUT PLASTIC FISCHER

Plastic Fischer is an organization focused on preventing plastic waste in the oceans by intercepting it at its source – rivers. Since around 80% of ocean plastic pollution originates from rivers, this approach offers an effective way to tackle pollution at the source.

Plastic Fischer’s main tool is the TrashBoom, a floating barrier that collects plastic waste while allowing aquatic life to pass through unhindered. This technique is used in heavily polluted rivers, particularly in India and Indonesia. In addition to waste removal, the organization also takes a social approach: it creates jobs in local communities and raises awareness through educational programs and environmental engagement.

At VOK DAMS, we view responsibility as a core part of our actions – both in event creation and production and in our commitment to the global sustainability goals.
