THE EUROPEAN INVENTOR AWARD - Innovation as an Experience

The European Inventor Award, presented by the European Patent Office, is a strong example of this. It is one of the most prestigious innovation awards in Europe. VOK DAMS has supported the format multiple times, including producing the “Young Inventors Prize”. This is a dedicated prize for young talents under 30 whose innovations make actual contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. 

In 2025, the award ceremony took place in Reykjavík as a hybrid event: live on site and broadcast internationally as a TV-format. Winners, their families and friends were invited to share the experience in person. More than 2 million people followed the show on YouTube alone. 

The result was an impactful award show that combined technological innovation with moving stories, moments of genuine recognition, a palpable spirit of optimism, and the feeling of being part of something greater. The event honored achievements and made values visible: a spirit of innovation, social responsibility, and the courage to explore new paths. 

At the heart of the event were the inventors themselves – their stories, their projects, and their visions. Topics ranged from e-waste recycling to CO₂ storage, from aeronautics to food security. Always focused on shaping the future.

This is what makes award events so impactful: they combine emotion and substance. They tell stories that resonate and convey messages that extend far beyond the event itself – on social media, in the press, in presentations, or within teams. 

When awarding becomes communication, real momentum is created – both internally and externally, within the organization and in its public image. What matters is not only who is honored, but also what is made visible, how it is communicated, and why it matters.
